New PILOT paper on monocytes in preterm babies with chronic lung disease

PILOT researchers Anne Hilgendorff and Christian Schulz have just had a paper accepted at Frontiers in Immunology

The paper, entitled “Monocyte signature and a predictor of chronic lung disease in the preterm infant”, reports on an investigation of innate immunity in premature babies.

In particular, the researchers examined monocyte subtypes in premature babies compared to babies born at full term and how the pattern of monocyte types detected was related to the development of chronic lung problems (bronchopulmonary dysplasia).

The researchers hope that their findings will contribute to the design of new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for these babies.

The paper can be accessed here.

Congratulations, Anne and Christian!
